Rs 9.96 Lakhs seized in suspected Hawala Transaction

Indore 26^th July 2015:- On 25^th July, 2015, Police received intelligence regarding transaction of Hawala Money at Laxmi Motors near Jawahar lal Nehru Stadium. Upon the directions received from senior officers, a team was formed under SHO Sanyogitaganj Shri D S Baghel and SHO Mahila Thana Smt. Jyoti Sharma along with adequate Police force.

Upon reaching the Laxmi Motors, a lady was seen coming out of Laxmi motors carrying a bag. On enquiry done by SHO Mahila Thana, the lady told her name as Meghna Pandey and Rs 9 Lakh 96 Thousand were found in the bag. On further enquiry about the money, Mrs Meghna Pandey told that the money belonged to Mr. Ankush Pahuja, the owner of Laxmi Motors and that he had given the money to her. On enquiry, Mr. Ankush Pahuja has denied that the money belonged to him and said that he doesn’t know anything about the money recovered.

          The money Rs 9 Lakh 96 Thousand, recovered upon Mrs. Meghna Pandey has been duly seized and statement of Mrs. Meghna Pandey has been duly recorded at Mahila Thana. After her  statement, the statement of Mr. Ankush Pahuja has also been duly recorded, who has denied anything to do with the money recovered upon Mrs. Meghna Pandey. Police is doing further enquiry into the matter and the concerned departments are being informed.
